Heating Oil Industry commits to climate change

A resolution was passed for the oil heat industry to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 through the accelerated use or clean, renewable Bioheat* fuel blends in heating oil.

Resolution calls for: 15 % reduction in greenhouse gas emissions based on 1990 levels, by 2023; 40% reduction by 2030; Net-zero emissions by 2050.

Many companies are delivering renewable liquid heating oil and have for many years.

What is Bioheat* Fuel ?

Bioheat * Fuel is a gallon-for-gallon substitute for petroleum based fuels used for space heating and transportation. It is non-toxic, biodegradable, renewable fuel, produced from agriculture byproducts and coproducts, including used cooking oil, animal fats, inedible corn oil, soybean oil and canola oil. Bioheat* reduces green house gas emissions significantly by 52% to 86 %. It is readily available in various percentages required in oil today.

To achieve the goals required every retail oil dealer must adopt increasing blends of Boiheat* with clean ultra-low sulfer fuel. Which wholesalers have already adopted percentages to be increased in the years to come. Some oil dealers have a higher amount already.
